Western Australian Creative industries innovators, Audioplay, are punching above their weight. With a strong presence and an ever-growing fanbase, the tiny but hard-working team behind Audioplay are proving there’s strong demand for their innovative new experiences.
Over April and May, Audioplay captivated audiences with their most current touring production Sun Runners, co-produced with South Australian children’s theatre specialists Windmill Theatre Company. Delivering successful seasons at the York Festival, Kalgoorlie KidsFest and Bondi Pavilion; Audioplay brought their unique brand of creativity to families around Australia. Each festival offered a platform for Audioplay to showcase their unique experiences, solidifying their reputation as trailblazers in the industry.
In addition to their festival appearances, Audioplay also had the honour of showcasing Sun Runners at the International Society of Performing Arts (ISPA) Conference held in Perth. This global conference is renowned for bringing together the best in performing arts from around the world, and Audioplay's inclusion is a testament to the high regard in which they are held within the international arts community.
“It’s been a very busy couple of months,” said Audioplay’s CEO, Gemma Pepper, “but its been great to connect with so many families and also share our work with performing arts colleagues from around the world."
“It can be a real challenge building an audience for entirely new type of experience, so its great to see Sun Runners securing bookings and being shared with kids and families far and wide.”
Achieving such milestones is a significant accomplishment for a small Western Australian company. Connecting with audiences both locally and nationally highlights Audioplays creative ingenuity and the quality of their experiences. As they continue to expand their reach and impact, Audioplay is undoubtedly a name to watch in the future of creative industries.
